Meta glasses are a workplace menace

In August, Toru Hinkle was stocking shelves at their job at Target when they noticed two customers and asked if they needed any help. The men requested a price check on an item - but even after Hinkle told them the item was $20, the customers asked for the price again and again. "After a while, I realized that I'm basically being pranked, and I noticed the glasses," Hinkle says, referring to the frames with a blinking light. They were the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, and the customers were filming. Hinkle eventually called a store manager over, but the pranksters antagonized her, too - asking the price repeatedly, deliberately misgendering Hinkle … Read the full story at The Verge.

Slack is launching collaborative vibe coding channels

Slack is introducing dedicated channels where teams can vibe code together with AI agents instead of jumping between different tools and conversations. The Slack Code launch includes open, project-specific code channels with dedicated user tabs, alongside features that compare coding changes and preview HTML output before the project is shipped. "With Slack Code, when you have an idea or need to build a new feature, update a web page, or fix a bug, you simply tag in a coding agent like Anthropic's Claude or Cognition's Devin, and that agent then spins up a code channel to tackle the task," Slack said in its press release. "There, everyone … Read the full story at The Verge.

TrueFoundry's open source AI agent harness TrueForge boasts 30%-75% cheaper task completion than Claude Managed Agents

Another day, another new AI agent harness is released.Only this time, it s one that aims to solve a growing enterprise problem as AI agents proliferate: enabling greater developer control of agents and tools, while reducing cost. TrueFoundry, a San Francisco B2B machine learning startup co-founded in 2021 by former Meta and Google engineers, has released its own custom TrueForge harness under the permissive MIT License on Github. Thus, it can be used with any of a developer (or their parent enterprise s) preferred AI models, forked, modified, self-hosted and incorporated into commercial products. The company states in a blog post that when it used TrueForge paired with the open source GLM-5.2 LLM to successfully complete 11 of 14 tasks on DevRev’s Enterprise-Bench — testing multi-step tool use across CRM, issue tracking, and document management systems — it cost 75% less than achieving the same results with Anthropic s Claude Managed Agents harness powered by Claude Opus 4.8 ($2.90 com
